If I could help this one small child, help her laugh a little while
If only I could see her smile and help her through her day
I think they found her just in time, I know she’s safe now she is mine
I’ve seen before that over time the darkness fades away
But no one knows her future; the road is yet unclear
We’re searching for her momma, the one who’ll love her dear!
Of coarse in time well, she’ll move on, I know I’ll feel bad when she’s gone
Old father time keeps moving on and changing all our days
It’s a never-ending stream I see of children damaged heedlessly
Thank god for those who look to see and guide them on their way
And no one knows their future; their roads, they’re still unclear
We’re searching for their momma, the ones who’ll love them dear
Performance: Vocal(s) – Dave Green; Acoustic Guitar(s) – Kevin Cookson; Bass – Wayne McDonald
Songwriter’s Notes: When Elizabeth arrived she wouldn’t smile, wouldn’t talk – she just looked us all up and down and definitely didn’t trust us. Eventually she turned in to the most excitable of children and she certainly has no problem in smiling now! She now has a new mum and dad and is thriving.
