Roads and new Horizons (3:53)

Ah! Lately I've been thinking it's time for moving on, what’s the sense of staying now you’re gone?
This empty feeling in my heart shows upon my face there’s something deep inside I can’t replace.
We sailed most of the seven seas and walked the mountains tall we never thought that one of us might fall.
Now I’m left here holding memories instead of holding hands it’s not the kind of future that I’d planned
‘Cause roads & new horizons were things we kept our eyes on, roads and new horizons where they go.
Roads and new horizons we felt we could rely on roads and new horizons where they go.

Our children have all scattered now like seeds amongst the earth with teachings from their mother since their birth. She taught them how to love and laugh, and live their life out loud if she could see them now she’d be so proud ‘Cause roads and new horizons are things they keep their eyes on, roads and new horizons where they go.
Roads and new horizons are things they do rely on, roads and new horizons where they go.

Ah! Lately I’ve been thinking it’s time for moving on I know if you were here you’d tag along.
You know that I’ll be missing you at each and every mile I wish that I could turn & see you smile.
For roads and new horizons were things we kept our eyes on, roads and new horizons where they go.
Roads and new horizons were things we did rely on, roads and new horizons where they go.
Roads and new horizons where they go.

Performance: Lead Vocal - Paul Craven; Harmonies – James Donaldson, Wayne McDonald & Dave Green; Rhythm Guitar – Kevin Cookson; Lead Acoustic Guitar – Jim Hopwood; Bass – Wayne McDonald.

Songwriter’s Notes: My best mate (James Donaldson) had recently moved to Scotland and the event had made me think about how all our lives change over time. As I sat down to write a song about my feelings at this time the phrase ‘roads and new horizons’ kept entering my head.
